【LUCID DREAMING】/ˌluː.sɪd ˈdriː.mɪŋ/
Lucid dreaming is the ability of becoming aware that you are dreaming during REM sleep. Once you become aware of the fact you are dreaming most can take control of the narrative and take control of what happens in the dream.
but what if it’s a nightmare?
Lucid Nightmares are something that have plagued me since I was a child. It started with being aware that I’m dreaming and control and moved to not being able to escape a nightmare or wake myself up from what is happening. This then transformed into waking with sleep paralysis and triggering an anxious response.
Sometimes I was running for my life before getting tackled down and ripped apart by a monster, sometimes trapped in a apocalyptic end of the world having to navigate horrifying events, or I was facing some sort of demonic/supernatural being head on.
Over the years I learned to be able to control them or even wake myself out of them, and now that I am well into my adult years I sometimes turn them into writings. It’s a way for me to assert control, and have control over them when I was troubled by them for most of my life. The first series of writings will be written off 3 of these nightmares and turned into short story writings where you will be able to imagine the main character as yourself.
These writings though they are vastly different come straight from my dream journal and straight into writing, with some added fiction to it to add to the plot. Each post will come with a accompanied post that will explain details of the dream and what I’ve added to it.
